Is HDR Mode on 4K HDR Blu Rays Suppose to make the Image Dark ?

So I have a 4K HDR Sony TV And Xbox One S, I played Salt Movie with Angelina Jolie which is 4K HDR. As soon as the blu ray loads it goes into HDR Mode and the screen is very dark ???

is that how its suppose to be ?

also tried deus ex mankind divided which now has hdr support same thing dark screen image and in normal game mode the picture ???

any thoughts ? is hdr all about dark images to be honest i dont see any difference just darker image ?

I dont know what model TV you have, but I have noticed that HDR can look dark in may situation - but I guess this is overcome on high-end models where the brightness of the TV (nits) is higher than on mid-range and budget HDR models, as well as things like full array local dimming etc on high end models.
