KD-55X8509C Keeps Turning off

This has been happening for the past year - at least once every evening the tv just decides to turn itself off. It could be after 15 minutes of viewing or 4 hours so it's not a sleep/standby issue..Any ideas why this happens? It's not a massive inconvenience but it's obviously not right

That certainly does not sound right. To be honest, that would drive me nuts

Is the TV still under warranty? If so, I would recommend you call in a warranty repair.

Before you do though, just a though on a couple of things:

Check your remote control and see if there is a 'stuck' power button - it might just be slightly stuck down, and a slight movement turns tv off?
If you have a surge protector, try using either another one, or test by plugging the TV directly into the socket on the wall.
I dont suppose you have a family member playing 'funny games' by turning TV off - just remembering a clip on YouTube during the world cup football

ha - now you mention that it's usually me doing that to the kids with my
phone when they're watching it - cheers for replying- I must check the
warranty on it and see. I can't see any issues with the remote button and I
don't have a surge protector and it's plugged directly into wall socket.
