KDL-75W850C Set up failure at language selection

My KDL-75W850C won't even get through the first setup. I have tried everything said in this forum about restarting the tv. Nothing changes. Once the network connection is established, the setup loops back to language selection! The network connection remains but the setup goes back to the "Welcome" at the language selection.

This is weird. What's the problem?

Hi there

Can you try going through the setup again, but this time do NOT connect the TV to the network. You can always connect the TV onto the network at a later stage - assuming you get passed the language screen. I recall this aproach has worked before on someone else.

However your model is not an EU model TV? Are you based in the US?

Thanks for the reply! Well, I am in Sweden, so yes, EU area.

I have tried to do as you suggest, but there is no change. Stuck at the
loop back to language selection, and no response from the remote.

At the Sony Community Sweden I just saw someone else with the same problem.
Another TV but exactly same problem. He had to have some technician taking
his TV to service.. and they repaired it. So I guess that's needed for my
tv too.

Yes, unfortunately if all else fails - its a 'mainboard' replacement.
