Size of recordings - This article can be a good guide (although its from 2010): http://gonedigital.net/2010/08/12/freeviewhd-bit-rates-and-file-sizes-revisited/

What Size HDD to get - this really depends on your viewing habbits. Whether you watch the program then delete it or you intend to keep it for a while. Or you intend to record lots of shows or just a one off here an there etc etc.

Sorry I cant be more exact, its just that its an open ended question which there are many variables.

I just recorded the England Scotland match 2hrs long HD and the resultant file was 6.3GB

I recorded 45m of the gadget show HD and the file was 3.1GB

I guess if you record 4k the file size is larger though.

Hope this gives you some idea of file sizes

(I have the same tv but 55" model)

Did the problem start immediately after service?

Was the service performed by Sony?

If Sony serviced your television, you're best contacting them straight away to let them know.

Got a new motherboard. So now my tv will not read the HDD.
