hi, I have a 55x8509c which has been working great for about a month until last week when it started to freeze and then a few seconds later switch itself off and not turn back on. It was doing this when first being turned on and only a power cycle by removing the plug for a minute would bring the tv back to life. Now the problem is more severe as the tv will now only work for around 10 mins before turning off and it can take upto an hour before working again. I believe the screen and backlight are still working sometimes when this happens, it's just the white light that goes out. Not sure if it is related but this only started happening after the last firmware update. I have checked all updates when I can get the TV to work and have performed a third factory reset which took about 4 power cycles to complete over 2 hours.

any help or advice with this issue would be greatly appreciated.

thanks,

shane.

Hi there

I dont suppose you get any red 'blinking' lights at the front by any chance?

Either way, it should like the TV needs to be repaired. Best contact your retailer you purchased it from if under warranty. Alternatively, contact Sony Support.

Cheers
