I can't say I've ever tried it but if your 55XE8096 performs as poorly as my 65XE8596 I wouldn't bother putting more load on it. You'd probably be better off letting some other device do the job. A router running OpenWrt or DD-WRT could work depending on what VPN server you need to tunnel to.
