Support lasts a couple of years after a model's release

so the 2017 sets are definately included.

My TV from 2016 is still on Marshmallow. Support is far from good...

Official word is that Sony will put Oreo on 2018 TVs. No word on 2017 and earlier TVs so far.

You can find the official info here.

Sony confirmed to us at CES that it is currently working on bringing Android version 8.0, also known as Android Oreo, to its TVs. The company also said that it has shortened development time between major updates. That may be true but considering that Android 8 was released in August 2017, consumers should still arm themselves with patience in the future.

Sony confirmed that Oreo will be made available to the 2018 models but the company did not want to go into specifics about timing or the rest of the line-up yet.

Hardly anybody over at Sony knows what the actual plan is. Most of the time you get very contradicting information. Just look at the late Dolby Vision disaster. So I would take the above info by @jumpsuit with a grain of salt...

As far as i know, the 2018 models still run with the same SoC, as the late 2016 models. Is it possible, that they will release the update for all models at the same time? They did the same with the 7.0 (Nougat)
