Sony KD-49XF9005. Changing Picture Mode not functioning correctly.

Hi,

Last November, I purchased a Sony KD-49XF9005. Up until now, I have been very pleased with it. Yesterday, I found the picture was not to my liking. I had left it in Cinema Home, but upon checking, found it had changed to Vivid. So I reset it to Cinema Home again, but within a couple of minutes, the TV had reset itself to Vivid Mode. I repeatedly reset the Picture Mode numerous times, but still the TV returned to Vivid mode, all by itself.

So I then cleared Cached Data, in the hope that would resolve the issue. It did not. I have turned the TV off and disconnected it from the mains electricity supply for thirty or so minutes, in the hope that might help. It has not.

Regardless of which Picture Mode I select, the TV keeps resetting itself to Picture Mode Vivid, . Has anyone else encoutered this and come up with a solution?
