Hi All,

We only have space for a 48inch TV, so although a bit expensive have bought the Sony kd-48a9 oled.

What are the best picture settings please to get the most out of this TV?

The best profile to use is the Custom one

I’d suggest that for everyday broadcast TV use ‘Standard’ which is pretty close to D65 white point.

A lot of people recommend either Cinema or Custom but these are not a good representation of what broadcasters use in the studio for monitors. The A9 is pretty good in terms of grey scale tracking out of the box with all the settings left as defaults though I found I needed to reduce contrast a little as it was just too harsh at the default.

The A9 has a Netflix calibrated mode which is first rate for Netflix HDR content.

If they didn't change something on newer products the standard profile use a different colour temperature from expert 1 or 2 so very far from d65 on the cooler side. Did you measure it on your tv and got a different result?
