many side-by-side 3d videos can be viewed with 3d mode, but some not. Especially the few promissing ones in UHD from Taeuber 3D do not seem to work (e.g https://www.google.fi/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=video&cd=2&cad=rja&uact=8&ved=0CCIQtwIwAWoVChMIzJ6MwqvZyAIVQSRyCh259Ak2&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.youtube.com%2Fwatch%3Fv%3D0i1xPvVJIJQ&usg=AFQjCNFrRCZ99C9QgT8Iu1wTLuFfN2HAWA&sig2=HaYyX0QGUU3wPScY7Wdi6Q&bvm=bv.105841590,d.bGQ). TV seems to try switch mode but remains showing side-by-side.

I ponder if it is cause of the material, app or the tv.

Uhmm, 3D in 4K I don't think it's possible AFAIK....

There is list of lower resolutions available to choose and 1080p or even
lower ones seem to make no difference.

I have 2015 Android 3D TV but dont have a blue ray/DVD player. Are there any apps available to view 3D movies (free/paid)?

There are many 3d test files on the net. Google is your friend here. There are also loads on YouTube as well.

Unfortunately i dont actually know - in specific to 3D, i doubt it. I understand that there are many addons for Kodi - maybe one of those may do it. 3D movies is generally bolted onto other streaming services (ie netflix)

You can watch the SBS or OU Youtube videos that are not automatically recognized as 3D by clicking "Action menu" button on the remote, while in Youtube and enabling 3D. Same is for the preloaded Video app.
