help please ....Sony Bravia KD43X8309CBU - can I do USB recording?

Hello Guys

I just joined here - because I am setting up my new Sony Bravia KD43X8309CBU.

It was advertised as being able to do USB recording, but:

a- none of the two USB ports has "HDD rec" written on it, so I put the USB in n.1

b- I am asked to do some sysytem update, but in the Reference guide there is no mention f that

Any help really appreciated
