Can anyone tell me what the 3d glasses transmitter type is for a KD55X8509C.

Is it Infra Red or Bluetooth.

Hi there

This TV uses bluetooth Active 3D glasses - TDG-BT500A. Sony only guarrantees and supports thier own glasses to work on their tv's

It's Bluetooth and you can use Samsung ones that are several times cheaper than the Sony 3D glasses.
