not charging and shutting down

My phone just shut off on its own, when i tried plugging it in on the wall charger,the red light from the LED is showing then the phone restarts on its own then after reaching the homescreen,the phone will shut down again and it doesnt take a charge,dunno wat to do

Remove both SIM and SD cards > connect it to a wall charger > press and hold power & volume up for 10 seconds > let it charge for 1 or 2 hours

1 Turn off the phone
2 charge your phone for an hour
3 repair the phone with PC Companion

Hi BahdetLab,

Welcome to the community! Since you're new please be sure that you have checked out our Discussion guidelines.

Failing the above instructions, you can attempt a software repair on the device, this can be done by doing the following.

1. Before you start you have to download the PC Companion software from PC Companion
and install it on your PC.
2. Once installed on your PC, double-click the PC Companion icon on your desktop to start the update.
Note! For some models you will be prompted to do a backup prior to the update and then restore.
3. Install and open PC Companion then select Support Zone.
4. Phone Software Update.
5. Start.
6. Repair Phone
7. Continue
8. Accept data removal
9. Next
10. Wait for prepare
11. Select Phone
12. Follow the connection steps

Yes as Uliwooly says, the Volume Down key is held when inserting the USB cable at the very end.

I tried connecting my phone to my laptop, the pc companion didnt recognize/no device found. My brother has a z3, i tried connecting his phone to the pc companion i have in my laptop and it worked for him.
I really dunno wat to do.

My phone is charging now but for a couple of minutes only then it'll stop then it will charge again, i also tried this while my phone is on and it causes my phone to shut down when it stops chargig, so i guess its more of a battery issue than a software. If by any chance that i will try to reload the software, how long it will take?

If you have a fast internet connection it should take about 20minutes
