Simple

Settings > apps & notifications > all apps > select the app > storage > clear cache

Thanks for reply. So you have to clear cache separately for every single app?...this is backward from every device used before, when able to clear all cache together as one!

This is a change done by Android itself. Yet, there's an app made by Google called "Files Go" where you can clear the cache in one tap, along with many other storage management features.

Oh right, how barmy is that!, thanks for the heads up though.

Yes am aware such apps exist....i discovered that the pre-installed security app has this feature along with others as you mentioned so that's how I'm doing my clearances.
