This option was removed in Android 6.0 because it impacted software encoding and quality. Later versions of Android will not have this feature either.

You can still save photos, videos and media to the SD card though.

If you don't have enough free storage to install a new application, you will need to remove some data to have enough space.

An application can't be transferred or installed on an SD card and will need to be stored on the internal storage, however some applications can save data on the SD card, for example offline playlists and so forth. Take a look in the applications that take up the most space in your device and you have downloaded data in and see if such an option is available there.
