xperia t2 ultra GPS poor performance

Hi Sony Xperia Design Experts,

The GPS signal reception of xperia t2 ultra dual is very poor though it is having both GPS and GLONASS. It nearly takes 500 sec in open sky to fix atleast 3 satellites with or without A GPS ( as my old nokia E52 takes just takes 10 sec to fix 4 satellites even in indoors). Particularly the problem worsened after updating the kitkat version 4.4.2. Please clarify whether the problem is associated with software or hardware itself for such a poor performance.

Sorry to hear that you're having issues with the GPS.

I'm afraid it sounds like there's something wrong with your phone in this case. I tested it here and without assisted start i had a fix and 18 satellites in 15 seconds. Depending on your location your result may differ but it should not take that long.

Try dialing *#*#7378423#*#* and go to Service tests -> GPS -> Purge assistance data and see if that helps. Also try making a repair of the phones software using PC Companion if it doesn't help.
If the issue should still remain I think that this needs to be examined and fixed at a repair center. For more information about how to submit your phone for repair and where, contact your local support team.

After resorting repairing option from kitkat4.4.2 , there is improvement in gps signal reception, now it is also showing GLONASS satellite status, but only in outdoors. Thank you.

Using a computer and PC Companion you can repair the software in the phone. install PC Companion in your computer and start it without connecting the phone and go to Support zone -> Software update -> repair phone but please note that this will delete all data in your phone.

Have been using Xperia since 7 months, it is generally found that GPS fixing is taking longer time (even with excellent AGPS network ), compared to other brands. What could have been the reason?
