Headphones Not Detected

I just returned home from abroad where I was using a local sim card rather than my own. When I use a different sim card, the settings inevitably get messed up. My phone now won't recognize my headphones after Throw kicks in. What happens is that I can get music to play if I manually stop Throw. As soon as Throw restarts, the music stops playing on my headphones and goes to my external speaker. My phone won't give me the option of disabling Throw. I've tried disabling Smart Connect, disabling the headphone compatibility app, adjusting settings in throw and Smart Connect, and still have gotten nowhere after hours wasted. Losing patience. What's the solution to this?

Try Clearing the SmartConnect data.

How to clear data on apps. From your Home screen

1. Tap the Application screen icon.
2. Find and tap Settings > Apps.
3. Swipe to the All tab.
4. Find and tap on the SmartConnect app.
5. Tap Force stop > Clear data.
6. Restart the phone

Thanks for the compliment. I'm surprised it was still available.

I tried starting in Safe Mode, and deleting Smart Connect data after doing a force stop. Neither worked.

I haven't had time yet to reset the phone through PC Companion.

It appears this is all related to Throw. If Throw is force stoppe, everything works normally for a few seconds until it restarts. It's very upsetting to not be able to disable Throw or adjust the settings in a meaningful way so as to make it cooperate. It appears issues with headphone recognition are quite common on the Xperia.

I've tried everything, and still can't get this ridiculous phone to recognize my headphones.

It's shocking that something as simple as plugging in a basic pair of headphones that work on every other device has wasted hours of my time. Other headphones, like noise cancelling ones, work fine.

I work out daily, and have been running on a treadmill in silence for two weeks.

I used to be a huge fan of Sony, but after this, not so much.

It shouldn't be such an ordeal to fix a simple problem.

Starting in Safe Mode did nothing.

Disabling Smart Connect did nothing.

Can't disable Throw, but turning off Bluetooth and force stopping it does nothing.

This is ridiculous.
