Really poor signal/no signal

Hi I have just been upgraded by vodafone to an m2 aqua. The signal keeps dissapearing and won't come back. If I switch off and on the signal returns. My old phone retains signal in all the places I have been at the same time. Equipment failure or some setting I don't know about?

How old is your SIM card? do you have the correct APN settings? (settings > xperia more > internet settings > ok)

I would have to follow Uliwooly on this one, it does sound although the SIM you are using is more than likely not working correctly, try getting a replacement SIM and let us know if this helps resolve the problem.
