screen issue

My phone acts wierd all the time but this is new. It was worlking perfectly fine and all of a sudden it started doing this: The screen has gone nuts. I cannot unlock my phone because making the pattern is impossible now. Neither can I shut my phone off. Now I have no idea what to do. When I looked closely I discovered a vert flimsy line across the screen that I never noticed before. Can someone help?

Have you enabled talkback somehow? Or do you think this is something hardware related?

This sounds like you have a cracked screen i'm afraid.......this would explain the screen problems

Discussion Welcome to the community! Since you're new please be sure that you have checked out our Discussion guidelines

Try holding the Power Key and the Volume Up key for around 15 seconds, once this has been done, the phone should be powered down, from here power the device on and check to see if the problem continues.

If the line is still there and you still have touch issues, then I would agree with Dandy on this one, it could very well be a crack in the screen, in which case I would suggest you contact our Customer Care team.
