If a factory reset isn't fixing that, then it's more likely that it's something wrong with the hardware itself. Return it if you are within the period, or take it to warranty repair.

Woke up in the morning and found out that my Xperia 1 had restarted and I had no idea why it happened. I wasn't paying attention to to problem and thought it was just some random restart because the system update. Later in the morning it happen several times when I was browsing instagram and reddit with my vpn connected. I tried to figure out what happened and I even tried to factory reset the phone but after I press the reset button and it shut down and it came back like nothing had happened. Also, I was not able to shut down the phone, whenever I shut it down it restarted instead.

Try a forced reboot.

Push Vol up and power for 10+ seconds

Read the manual

Hi @elvislsw, I am sorry to hear about this.

Have you tried rebooting your phone in safe mode in order to see whether the behavior persists?

Another thing that you can try removing the SIM card/Try another SIM card on your phone, and then try restarting the phone. If the phone works as intended without a SIM car or with another SIM card, the SIM card might be damaged and in need of replacement. Secondly you could also try to remove the SD card if you have one. If the phone restarts successfully after you remove the SD card, your SD card may be damaged and in need of replacement.

If none of these measures manages to improve the functionality of the phone I would suggest that you do is to try to perform a software repair using a computer and Xperia Companion. Please note though that a software repair will erase all user data, so remember to do a backup of your user data first.

Try these measures and let me know how it goes!

Hello there

I was going to ask if you have tried to flash it with the latest firmware.......however

If it reboots-even in safe mode at random intervals then its NOT safe to flash as if if it rebooted half way through a firmware upgrade=one borked phone.

I suggest not to be patient any longer and take it back for repair, if you are in the UK, we have brilliant laws on this and if it goes wrong then its up to the RESELLER to provide a new one and not the manufacturer.

PLease check your region's return laws on this bud.

If you have any questions regarding things such as service routines, warranty and consumer laws, these kind of questions are best answered by your local support team as well.

Let me know how it goes and feel free to return if you have any further questions!
