Loudspeakers Xperia 10

I got a new Xperia 10, which I immediately put into a Sony licensed phone case the day I got it and I haven't dropped it. When I play any audio the sound only comes out through the right bottom loudspeaker. The ear speaker works fine, but the left side of the loudspeaker on the bottom of the phone does not seem to be working. If you cover the right side you essentially mute the sound even if the left side isn't covered.

Is it meant to be like this or should I return it and get a new Xperia 10?

Hi @ragyot, welcome to our forum!

That is because the loud speaker is only to the right at the bottom of the device, to the left is the primary microphone.

I hope that explains why there is no sound played through the left side!

I miss the superior STEREO sound from my old z5 premium!! The speaker on the 10 is terrible, and to be only a mono speaker setup when there's clearly another speaker in the phone is just stupid!?? I've had this phone only two weeks and I'm seriously regretting ever getting it!
