Ambient sensor reaction time

Hi, I'm new so please be gentle.

When I use the fingerprint sensor to open the handset in bright light like outdoors in daylight, the display starts very dark, and it takes around 4 to 5 seconds for device to adjust brightness for screen to be useable.

Is this normal??!

You mean "adapitive brightness" feature.

Display > Adaptive brightness"

Note: supposedly moving the slider manually a few times outside the AI will kick in.

(I personally don't use that feature, I'll give it a try myself and see how the reaction time is.)

This prob has no effect, perhaps also turn on, so the screen stays on while staring at it.
