remove the SD and SIM cards > leave your phone on a bag filled with rice for 2 days > replace the rice every 8-12hrs

do NOT attempt to turn it on, or charge it. DO NOT put your phone in an over, under the sun, or use a hairdryer (hot)

you may think me completely mad but the suggestions I made to you earlier are your best bet, whater will not be attracted by anything unless it is physically touching the water - in order for the water to be physically touching the rice you need to create an air flow to move it, if you don't create an airflow the water or moisture will remain inside the enclosure of the phone case and circuitry

If you agree with the above continue reading - if you don't then just stop here and forget about it

To create an airflow through the inside of the phone from one side or end to the other without opening it is quite difficult

1. You need moving air (either blown or sucked)

2. you need an entry and exit point that will allow the air to flow and collect the water/moisture and carry it out of the device, heat helps this process as it helps the water to turn to vapour

So I suggested 2x methods of getting an airflow through your phone

1 Hair dryer which has the advantage of providing some heat to aid the water evaporate but is difficult to connect to the phone and actually get a flow going

2. Vacuum cleaner - the opposite of the above - no heat but has a better chance of getting a good airflow going - you are in a hot climate so this would be my preferred method, up close and even taped to the side of the phone to get a good effect and I mean sealed up taped with maybe a little gap

I have worked with hitech electronics all my life, there is very little I don't know - water itself will not damage your phone but powering it on while there is water inside may

A girlfriend of mine spilt a can of coke on my laptop - before I could turn it off it shut down, and would not restart - I dismantled it and removed the motherboard which had obvious stains of sticky brown goo from the coke, I washed it under the tap with luke warm water and fairy liquid then rinced it of with cold water, I then took it to a local tyre place and blew the water off with compressed air

the laptop is still working today 100% and is about 7 years old

If I'd suggested such a thing to anyone they'd have laughted at me - water is used in pcb manufacture

anyway airflow is your friend in this case the more the merryer - and for as long as you can

then do an update repair and see how that goes

it can't mak it any worse

also, open every flap, and check if the white rectangle turned pink or red, every flap has one

open all the ports and get an air flow from one side to the other

I'd set it up with a vacuum cleaner on one side and a heat source on the other (not too hot or you'll melt the plastic - and let the warm air flow for a few hours, if you use a vacuum cleaner to suck from one side tape the nozzle to create a good seal

First thank you for ur suggetions ...i put my phone under the hairdrayer (cold air) for 30 min and now i put it in a big cup of rice!! the vapure has gone from the two camera when i put the hairdryer (cold)...but why putting it in the ricee?? andd how many hours do i have to wait???...and thank you again

you need airflow - I don't think a hair dryer will supply enough - a vacuum cleaner will have a better chance and you need warm air to evaporate the water inside to allow the air to transpot it out

so hair dryer on one side cleaner on the other - the cleaner will suck the warm air through the ports and take the water away

I'm not sure rice will work as it needs to be in contact with the water to absorb it

yes two of these flaps are pink ...only one is white...what does it means?

that mean that 2 of those flaps weren't closed all the way and water got in, but try GeoffH suggestion it might save your phone.

it should work - you need to completely dry the inside and that could take a while - just not too much heat and leave with air flowing for as long as you can - would be much easier if you could open up the back
