topic Sony WF-1000XM3 Charger Burned (Melted) while charging - Now Won't Charge or Possibly Dead. in Portable Audio

The case/charger for my WF-1000XM3's was recently charging with the provided USB C Cable into a Wall Outlet charger that I've always used. The Charger Case is melted right by the USB port now and it doesn't seem like it works anymore to charge the earbuds. My right earbud has lost all power and won't work.

Bought these headphones brand new, Lost the receipt and I'm sure they are out of warranty now, but something like this that could be a potential fire hazard should be looked at and address by Sony IMO. Especially when there are lots of reports and pictures of this exact issue online with these WF-1000XM3s and the headphones equivalent.
