Hi Federico,

As far as I am aware, both ALAC and AAC use the same compression method so I don't think that the playback codec can be changed, well, at least from the headphones itself from what I've seen in the Manual of the headphones. https://helpguide.sony.net/mdr/wh1000xm3/v1/en/contents/TP0001703175.html

Cheers,
The_Black_Rose

Hi all,

I am using PLEX to play ALAC files. I am aware these headphones support 5 different codecs via Bluetooth (SBC, AAC, aptX, aptX HD and LDAC). So I suspect somewhere in the chain ALAC must be converted to one of the codecs above. So my question is: how do I choose which of the 5 codecs is used over Bluetooth?

Thanks.

Kind regards,

Federico
