Which model better, and why. What should I choose? Thanks

They are very similar, even in price. The WX5 is very slightly heavier, has a slightly wider, slightly brighter lens and slightly bigger sensor chip.

In practice you would barely notice any difference in performance, except for the much higher-resolution screen on the WX7. This is possibly a big enough reason to choose the WX7 over the WX5. Another reason could be the Carl Zeiss lens on the WX7, reckoned by some to be better than the Sony G lens on the WX5.

I would suggest going to a camera shop and comparing them for yourself, see if the WX7's higher-resolution screen is a big factor for you, or whether you prefer the lens on the WX5. It basically comes down to personal choice
