Good morning. I am sure this will have been requested in the past, if so, please forgive me.

I have a very old Sony video8 camcorder with lots of v8 cassettes. I would love to transfer these to my Lenovo ThinkPad Windows 10 laptop.

Is this possible and if so what cables do I need to do the transfer?

I would use the video editing software+capture card combination from Magix sold under the name "Rescue your Video Tapes".

You need the right AV output cable from your camera to go to composite video+chinch.

Then simply connect your camcorder to your PC via the capture card and "play" the tape inside your camcorder.
