My PRS-600 has black and white lines across screen, how do I fix this?

The reader has black and white lines horizontally and vertically across screen

I have tried the tip ie changing pages several times and resetting but the problem remains.

Any thoughts tips etc?

I think you may have damaged the screen, I believe its called the screen substrate, the only way to fix that is send it to Sony.

It may be better to actually get a new reader.

dear sehuxle, thanks for the reply. I feared that damaged screen may be the case, and I have read elsewhere that the cost of fixing it is prohibitive compared to cost of reader.

I read elswhere that a hard reset may fix the problem , but the steps suggested don't seem to work for me, ie the reset doesn't seem to follow on from steps suggested.
