Hey guys,

Today my custom Sony Vaio Pro 13 arrived and I've already come across a problem: the screen resolution. The only options are 1920x1080, 1280x1024 and 1024x768. 1920x1080 is widescreen but is far too large for a 13.3 inch monitor. Text is incredibly difficult to read and I'm currently having to browse on Chrome with the page zoomed in to 200%. The other two resolutions are both 4:3 so only display on half of the screen; they're also far too zoomed in. I'm ideally looking for a 1366x768 resolution. Is there anything I can do to "unlock" this?

Thanks in advance,

James

Okay I'm now even more confused. If I plug in a second monitor and select "Duplicate these displays", 1360x768 becomes available on my ultrabook. If I select any other option it returns to 1920x1080 without any new options. This means that I can only ever have 1360x768 if I'm plugged in to a second monitor AND duplicate the display on both...

Exactly the same problem. I cannot find a way to switch the laptop to any other resolution than 1920x1080 (which is native) or 1024x768 and 1280x1024 which are pointless on a 16:9 screen.

Sony, can you please fix that???

agree, this is a big problem

need to be able to toggle more resolutions. my eyes are sore looking at the screen

Same here. Would sony PRETTY PLEASE finally do something about this issue?

I bet lots of others, who dont write here are unhappy with that, too.

And again: The Sony Vaio Pro 13 needs more Resolutions. Not just 1920 x 1080 and that useless 1024 x 768 (4:3) stuff.

Please give us 1280 x 720 or other 16:9 resolutions with a driver fix.

kind regards

a customer

Hi,

same problem. Under Win 8 you may change the size of text and symbols in the system settings. But many programs do not support these settings, so text remains nearly unreadable here. It's ridiculous...

Have you guys tried to change the system DPI settings to 125-150% this normally solves the problem when running high res monitors on desktops.

P.S You should find this option is the control panel under Display!

Hello,

A little bit late, but I found it's actual able to configure it to display at native 1368x768 (not 1366x768, I've confirmed this on my dual boot Linux) under windows 8.1, but I think this should do the trick even under windows 7.

Download and install the latest HD4400 video driver from intel site (version 15.33.18.64.3496), then 1368x768 should listed on the windows display setting. If this does not work, there is an "Display Option" (not sure the exact term because I'm using Chinese version of Windows, but should be something like this) menu item after right click on desktop, and the last item in that menu is "Customize Resolution", you colud create it by yourself.
