New Vaio Duo 11 - model not found on support

Hi all,

I have a shiny new Vaio Duo 11 bought from the Sony store. Mode number SVD1121C5EB. I've registered the beastie successfuly but then when I try to go to drivers, etc. the sony support site says model not found and this model is not listed anywhere.

Any other owners experiencing the same, Sony support is just not answering the question.

any other way to get to firmware etc without requiring model number?

Hi afcontacts,

Can you please check the product number? Most of these models seem to start SVD1121 followed by P, Q, X or Z and then a number and two further letters.

There is a possibility you are quoting the chassis number rather than the product number. Have a look on the underside for a white sticker that quotes ‘Product Name’.

If you are sure that this is the product number then maybe the data base needs updating and we can pass this on to Support.

You could also check in Vaio Control Center > System information for the Model Name...

The following additional information has been provided by Blencogo...

The SVD1121C5EB is a custom built model of the Duo 11 range and as every model is personally configured it may not yet be on the database. Hopefully Support will have reported this.

The preconfigured, non-customised models are on the Support website and I would guess they all have the same Hardware/Drivers - with the possible exception of the Russian models - as the only difference is the processor, SSD Size and RAM Size. I've had a look at every model and they all have the same downloads etc.
If you have a mid-range model with: -
i5-3317U Processor
4GB RAM
128GB SSD
then your model is very similar to the SVD1121Q2EB which is on the website here: -

Software updates should be carried out using Vaio Care.

The range of preconfigured models from cheapest to costliest is: -
SVD1121P2EB
SVD1121Q2EB
SVD1121X9EB
SVD1121Z9EB

The model number is on the sticker contained within the left hand side of the screen hinge when it is slid up. I had the same trouble, but when i put this one in it worked.

Thanks all, very helpful. I used one of the other model numbers to get the downloads. I was bit sad when Vaio update said my model didn't exist.

Support has confirmed that this model has not yet been added to the database and they have escalated. Hopefully it will be added in the next few days.

Hi, I have also this model - can I ask you to check plugging in an external monitor via VGA and tell me if your colours are completely off too - just wondering if its just me...
