VAIO KEYBOARD not working

Hi I have sony vaio laptop,windows 8 Model name: SVE1512B1EW and the keyboard is not working properly. I cant type letters & numbers and even the back space is not working. What should I do?

Firstly a couple of questions for you:

Was it working fine previously?

Have you installed any recent updates e.g. Windows 8.1?

Also have you tried contacting customer support?

I recently updated windows 8.

The keyboard and touch pad no longer work

I went into system recovery and recovered the system. However now the system is recovering i am in the region and language section for which I need a keyboard and pad to select and go to next.. The keyboard and touch pad do not work how do I move on to fully recover?

I have no recovery discs

try to find some external usb keyboard and mouse probably is the easiest way... looks like it is some driver issue with windows 8

Hi yes an external keyboard should allow you to complete the instalation but it sounds like it could be a hardware issue, was the keyboard working before you ran the recovery?
