Sony Vaio FZ VGN-FZ17G Drivers for windows 10

Hi there,

I have recently upgraded a Sony computer to WIndows 10 it is missing this driver

ACP\VEN_SNY&DEV_5001

I have downloaded one that I thought might work but it wouldn't run and install.

Hi Scott1Roberts and welcome.

The driver you need is the SFEP (Sony Firmware Extension Parser) Driver. This driver is not OS critical and should work on all versions of Windows so if you kept a copy of your original drivers it should still work.

This is not a UK or EU model but, as with all Sony areas, driver support for older Vaios has been withdrawn and the downloads unavailable. I have checked the US and Asia websites as these sold your model, but no joy.

Try the SFEP driver from a newer Vaio that is still supported. Here is one from the VPCEB series Vaios:

Thanks very much for the swift reply.

Worked like a dream thanks. Driver installed is 8.0.2.3

One comment I would make is that these drivers do not install like normal drivers, or what I am used to anyway.

So you need to go to the device in device manager and search your computer in downloads to install the driver.

But I am impressed with your solution thanks very much!
