Firestick problem

I have a Sony KDL 40s2010.

It has an HDMI terminal where I have plugged the Firestick in and also plugged the power in. I have tuned to external input and then hdmi. But nothing comes up on the screen. Thanks

You say “plugged the power in’, and I assume you mean for the Firestick, but what have you plugged in, and what into? Hopefully an Amazon power supply, rather than relying on a USB port on the TV.

Also, the Firestick is relatively unusual in having an On/Off button on its remote. Have you turned it on?

Is this 2006 model your only TV, or do you have a more modern one as well? The Firestick should adapt itself to your 720p/1080i, but if not, you may be able to set the resolution to that in a more modern TV, and then move it back to the older TV.
