Sky Q home button taking me to the HT-A7000 Home Screen everytime.

Set my Sky Q remote to control volume on my HT-A7000 soundbar but now when I press the home button on my Sky remote instead of taking me to the Sky home page it takes me to the eARC HDMI 3 home page that my soundbar is connected to. Any ideas how I can stop this while still using my Sky remote for the volume control?

Hi @jpickles You need to report this to Sky, after all it is their remote that is causing the problem. Have you tried a different Sky remote?

Thanks for the reply but I have used this Sky remote with several other soundbars in the past and the problem has only started since I set up the HT-A7000 yesterday.

Why do you need to setup the skyq remote to control the volume on the soundbar? If you set it up to control to your TV it is enough: it will be the TV that will control the soundbar volume via hdmicec

It’s more convenient to just use one remote (SkyQ) and this is how I’ve always controlled Sky, TV and soundbars in the past. Just seems to be since I started using the Sony soundbar that it has become an issue of the home button sending it to a different HDMI instead of showing the Sky Home Page.

Setting up the skyq remote to control just the TV you'll control also the soundbar without using anything else since the TV automatically control also the soundbar via hdmi cec

That’s what I thought but unfortunately that’s not what’s happening. Have reset the Sky remote and just set it up for TV and not sound system but still insists on changing to the soundbar HDMI whenever I press the Sky home button.

This is really weird, what happens if you disconnect completely the soundbar?

I've noticed that the TV is resetting it's configuration settings for the HDMI ports randomly. I set up Sky, the Soundbar and my Blu Ray player on the respective ports and they just switch back to generic labels when I look later. Anyone any ideas how you make these stick 😫
