Transferring images from A7RM3a to Android smartphone using usb cable.

Mind-boggling contradictions in the instructions on Youtube and even Sony support website. 

I'd like a yes or no answer: is it possible to transfer still images from A7RM3a to Android smartphone using usb cable?

I've given up on wireless operation.

I’ll answer you YES or NO only after some more investigation on your case.
The point is that it depends from the support of the usb of your phone.

The easiest way is to check yourself:
- force the camera in mass storage mode usb menu
- connect to your phone with a usb-c data cable

Thank you for responding.I tried your suggestion (I think I'd tried it before during the hours of exasperation).No recognition of either camera or 'phone by the other.
I suppose 'No' is the answer to my question.
