How to turn off subtitles on a KD-43X8305C

I am unable to turn off the subtitles permanently on my new TV - I can turn them off whilst watching a channel but if I then go to another channel and return to the one I had been watching earlier the subtitles are back on again. This is very annoying! Anyone know how I can dusable the subtitles so that they only come on when I actually want them to?

have you try this?:

Settings > Channel setup > Digital setup > Subtitle Set-up
Inside this category:
- Subtitle Setting: Off, Basic, For Hard Of Hearing
- Primary Preferred Language: list of languages
- Secondary Preferred Language: list of languages

Unfortunately, if you set it to OFF, the setting does not stick, meaning the default setting still remains HARD OF HEARING.

Currently, there seems to be no way to permanently disable subtitles. EVERY time I change channels, subtitles are turned on again and need to be disabled EVERY time.

VERY annoying...

Is there something I am missing here?
