KD-49XE8004 - Lack of Bluetooth profile A2DP support

Hi All

 

Just trying to understand why A2DP profile is not supported on this model KD-49XE8004  where KD-xxXE85xx got it with firmware update. There is a Bluetooth 4.1 which should have no issues with simple A2DP.

 

  • A2DP (Bluetooth headphone) functionality
    • Applicable for XE85, XE90, XE93, XE94 and A1 Series

 

Has anyone got an explanation to that?

I have been wondering this myself for quite some time. All ATV2 TVs (the ones currently with Android 7.0) share the same identical SoC and Bluetooth. They use the same Android installation package. And yet only the most recent (and expensive) models have A2DP support?

 

Not that I would be using it (and then my AVR supports AD2P so it wouldn't be an issue for me), but I don't understand why a feature must be not present IF the hardware support it and it is implemented in similar models.
