I've recently purchased the HT-X8500 sound bar to connect via HDMI to my Bravia KD-49XF7596 TV.
From reading both manuals I gather that the Bravia doesn't have an eARC connection, but it does support Dolby and DTS sound. My question is, how do I know that I am getting the full sound capability available? I've read the manuals of both devices and it isn't at all clear to me how to check and/or enable the full sound capability of this pairing.
FWIW - I've also recently upgraded the Bravia to the latest firmware version, v6.6545.
Any help/tips would be appreciated.
