Native Video app playback problems on Oreo

Do we even know that Sony is aware of this issue after Oreo upgrade...

I can't play my favorite 4K movies and videos from external hard drives anymore... 😞

I’ve got XF9005, I play 50GB films from USB hard drive, they play fine but freeze after about 30-40 minutes, when I go back select the film none will play, I’ve tried closing the app (from home->settings) but it doesn’t help. I have to soft reset (hold power to restart) then the video plays and I can fast forward to continue watching , very annoying
