Sony 65XH9096 doesn't output Dolby Atmos from Netflix/YouTube App

Hi,

Recently purchased this TV along with a JBL 9.1 soundbar. Unfortunately it seems I can't get Dolby Atmos sound neither from the Netflix or the Youtube app. The soundbar is connected to the TV via the eARC ports on both. Any ideas?

Managed to sort this in the end, I had to manually download the updated firmware from Sony's website, so that HDMI3 got eARC.

Hi,

Probably the content you're watching doesn't contain DA information.

Cheers

Dolby Atmos is carried in the Dolby Digital plus signal output from the TV via ARC.

Either the source material is not DA (very limited amounts on YouTube, none (?) on Prime Video, limited amounts on Netflix (only on Premium subscription) and a fair bit on Disney +)

or TV is not outputting DD+ (TV sound output settings... auto1 and DD+)

or sound bar not compatible with DD+ (impossible!?)

How did you do the firmware upgrade? My TV is set to carry out updates as they become available I think, but I can't get Atmos either?
