Should my tv run through 20 seconds of coloured shapes every time I switch it on?
Can I stop this?

Hi @lindave8182 As you have discovered your TV has been designed to be left in Standby. By switching off at the mains you are probably shortening its life and as you have found it has to do a full boot of the Android operating system every time you switch it on. The annual cost of leaving it in Standby is about 50p. That's £0.50 a year!
Not switching off at the mains does the job thank you. It is now a case of training myself to leave it in standby, I believe it is a generational problem although I leave my Virgin Media box in standby permanently.
We can safely say you have solved my problem.

Hi @lindave8182. Could you clarify what you mean by switch it on? Switch on at the mains or press the power button on out of Standby.
