I am unable to open or download the Youview app on my 2017 Bravia KD 55A1 android television. Every time I go through the download progress I scan with no result.

You don’t have to download YouView; it’s the UI the TV is delivered with as the default option.
You do have to set it up, though.
To get no result from the scan, you have either:-
not connected the terrestrial aerial it needs, having connected no aerial cable at all, or only a satellite cable;
connected what you think is a terrestrial aerial, but there is no actual aerial signal on the cable;
used a known-to-be-good aerial (that worked fine with a previous TV, perhaps), but the tuning process on your new TV is fscked;
done (or not done) a fourth thing I haven’t thought of.
If you can let us know which it is, we can go from there.

It might be worth performing a factory reset on your TV to see if this helps. Do let us know how you get on.
