no audio on any programme including imovie

i recently purchased a handycam dcr-sr15. on the box it says it works with imovie on mac. i can get the files to play but there is no audio what so ever. i have tried changing the file names but nothing works.

please help

Channing file names is not going to solve your problem. Firstly what version of iMovie have you got?. Next question your video images play? So when you imported your video to iMovie did you hear and sound?.

Please check you setting on you computer as i do not know what other audio you wish to work with your PC/Mac
