We couldn’t be more excited to introduce a brand new user interface that’s going to make our 2015 BRAVIA Smart TVs a whole lot smarter. Say hello to Android TV from Sony.
Modelled on Google’s pioneering operating system, Sony’s Android TV is powerful, easy to use and unbelievably intelligent. But don’t just take our word for it - let us talk you through some of the main features you can expect to find:
- Google Cast lets you instantly ‘cast’ app content – movies, music, games and more - from your smartphone, tablet or computer to the big screen so you can enjoy it with friends and family. With a whole host of supported apps you can share anything from Netflix movies to YouTube videos with a single tap.
- Voice search is at the heart of Android TV. You can change channels, navigate between apps and find new, exciting content by searching for anything that comes to your mind, just by talking to the TV like you would a best friend. Spend less time fiddling with remotes and more time enjoying your favourite shows.
- Google Play lets you download all kinds of content just like you would on your Android smartphone, including apps, movies, music and even Android TV-optimised games that can be played with a selection of compatible gamepads.
- Personalised content means that you’ll be greeted with specifically tailored suggestions every time you visit the Android TV homepage. With the television doing all the hard work, all that’s left for you to do is sit back and enjoy.
There’s so much more that we haven’t even mentioned yet, but we’re not going to dive into it all right now. Instead, we’re going to be running a special series of Android TV-related articles for you to sink your teeth into, which will explain everything from downloading a movie on Google Play to getting the TV to cook dinner for you. OK, maybe one of those examples was a lie.
