Sony DCR-TRV140E handycam

Hello

I have an old Handycam video recorder that hasen’t been used for about 16 years. When I now started the play-mode it it only shows a blue screen and I cannot play earlier recorded material. Does anyone know why?

Hi @Piddepan, that may happen if you recorded the tape in Hi8/ Standard 8mm system. You can learn more about this issue on page 152 from here:  https://www.sony.com/electronics/support/res/manuals/3072/30723181M.pdf
