I bought a Sony HAP-Z1ES which still has its 1 year warranty. I attempted to extend the warranty through one of my local sony centres (based on Sony's advice). Provided the receipt and serial number of the product but the Sony centre got back to me saying they could not get sony to extend the warranty. They stated that they were having problems with the serial number but I couldnt understand this as I bought the product from an authorised sony dealer. I even registered it on the Sony website. Can anyone help find a way forward on this. This an expensive equipment and it makes sense to extend the warranty
Hi Jenkowaz3,
I'm just wondering if you tried to register the warranty to the system yourself using the Sony website here: https://services.sony.co.uk/support/en/premium-services?

No, I initially contacted Sony directly to see if i can extend my existing 1 year warranty to 5. They advised that I do so via a Sony centre which I did. Despite buying the equipment from an official sony retailer, I was informed by Enfield Sony centre that they won't be able to extend the warranty as their system could not recognise my serial number
Hi Jenkowaz3,
I'm not sure if you still can do that as this player is a 2013 model, however, in all cases going through the link provided earlier by Win88 is the way to get an extended warranty on Sony products if it's possible.
Cheers,
