How to match my recent Sony Blu-ray to my Samsung TV

I have just purchased a Blu-ray DVD BDP-S3700. The remote will not control the volume to match my Samsung TV. I have heard that you press the green remote button and enter a Samsung code. But their are no numbers on this remote. And I have no idea what I really have to do to get this Sony remote to work the volume, when playing a DVD. Also have no idea what the Samsung TV code is anyway, as their are so many?

Their is no idiots guide for people to easy understand. Do I just ignore the Sony remote match, and just use the Samsung for volume control. This is so annoying, when other DVDs i have had work fine, that do not match using a different TV.

Make sure that Control for HDMI is enabled:

There should be a similar option on your TV, this will allow the player to control your TV.

Thank you for your reply. I have done exactly so with Sony and the TV, but still not solved the issue. Thank you anyway for your suggestion.
