My s3500 Blu ray player is now effectively a paperweight.
When powering on, the main Sony Blu Ray graphic comes on, then the home screen appears for a second before going to a black screen and then the player is unresponsive to all attempts of pushing buttons on the front of the device as well as the remote control.
The only way to power down is to unplug the main power cable from the back.
No matter what I try, the same thing happens, leaving me with an unusable device.
It's not an issue with the HDMI cable. It's not an issue with the screen resolution.
And as there is nothing to see, I cannot even attempt to install the latest firmware.
I'd appreciate any advice to get this player functional again.
