Cant install windows xp in Sony VAIO VGN-N11M/W

Hi,

I need to format my operating system and install new windows xp operating system in my laptop. But when I inserted bootable windows CD its not detecting and starting windows as usual. I checked in boot options also there internal optical device is first option...now i am not understanding what exactly the problem to install operating system??

Please help me regarding this..

Hi Sravan,

What error messages do you get?

If you get 'Hard Disc not found' then try Google for "Installing XP on a SATA hard drive'.  XP does not generically support SATA hard drives and you will need to install the SATA drivers by pressing F6 during the install and connecting a floppy disc drive.
