Does anyone know what the Wireless Driver is called for the PCG-7G1M?

2200BG driver doesn't work. It's a driver that isn't on the Sony Vaio  site. I'm looking for the driver that will allow the laptop to search  for networks. Does anyone know where to find it or what it's called?

I don't have the driver disk either.

The reason you can't find the driver on the Vaio download site is because there is no model  called PCG-7G1M.

This is the chassis designation from the bottom of your Vaio - if you look on the screen surround you will see the correct model type which will probably be something like VGN-FS415E.

You can also find the correct Vaio model in the BIOS or in Vaio Control Centre.

If it is a VGN-FS415E you will find the Intel Wireless Driver and the WLAN Starter utillity here: -

http://support.vaio.sony.eu/computing/vaio/downloads/updates/index.aspx?l=en_GB&m=VGN-FS415E

You don't say if you are using XP, Vista or Windows 7, so make sure you use the correct driver.  For XP it will be in the Original Drivers Package and foar Vist it will be under the Vista Tab.

Alternatively, the drivers are available on the Intel website here: -

Again there are different versions for XP and Vista.
